Born from the restless spirit of Bob Dylan, the Heaven’s Door Cask Club invites bourbon enthusiasts into an exclusive membership society where tradition meets innovation. More than just access to exceptional whiskey, this private club offers members the opportunity to become stakeholders in the art of bourbon-making, creating personalized expressions that reflect their own tastes and journey through Kentucky’s finest spirits traditions.
Members claim true ownership in liquid artistry—selecting personal barrels from our diverse stock, enjoying priority access to limited releases, and gathering in the exclusive Ascension Lounge that crowns our distillery with panoramic Kentucky vistas. The experience extends seamlessly between our locations in Kentucky, with first-booking privileges for tasting rooms at both locations, complementary access to select Louisville events, and connections to Dylan’s broader creative universe through VIP access to the Bob Dylan Center and Morrison Hotel Gallery.
How It's Different
While standard bourbon programs typically limit enthusiasts to single-batch bottlings or annual selections, the Heaven’s Door Cask Club delivers unprecedented control over your whiskey’s development. Members can sample their barrels twice yearly as the bourbon matures, bottle portions at different ages to track the evolution, and make the revolutionary choice to transfer remaining spirit to secondary finishing casks once the barrel reaches half-volume. This exceptional flexibility—coupled with exclusive access to both our Pleasureville distillery grounds and The Last Refuge’s intimate Louisville setting—creates a bourbon experience that transcends collecting to become a personalized whiskey journey impossible to replicate elsewhere in Kentucky or beyond.
THE LAST REFUGE
The Last Refuge is the “spiritual home” of Heaven’s Door Whiskey, housed in the former Refuge of Kentucky Church (circa 1870) in downtown Louisville. The Last Refuge serves as a distinguishing element of the Heaven’s Door brand, offers visitors unique experiences which embody our positioning as “the perfect blend of art and craft.”
The Last Refuge transcends what any spirits brand has done before and raised the bar for guest experience on the “Urban Bourbon Trail.” Rather than feature only the Heaven’s Door whiskey collection, The Last Refuge is a celebration of American whiskey, offering the largest selection of American whiskey in the world with nearly 5,000 bottles of display in our Amber Room bar. This vast offering positions The Last Refuge as the destination for the millions of bourbon tourists that come to Kentucky each year and pays homage to the craft of great whiskey making.
In addition to housing the largest selection of American whiskey in the world, The Last Refuge offers elevated gastro-pub fare, live music, a gorgeous private event space in the former sanctuary of the church and one of the largest patios in the city. The Last Refuge will host lectures, conferences, industry round table discussions, product launch events, education classes and live auctions for collectors, positioning The Last Refuge as the place that kindred spirits gather.
Adjacent to the church property is a vintage two story building that formerly was home to the Zephyr Art Gallery. This property has been purchased by The Last Refuge (Louisville Hospitality Co. LLC) and will be leased to Heaven’s Door, which will house a retail store for Heaven’s Door on the ground floor and a private tasting room experience in “The Loft” on the 2nd floor, featuring a vast vinyl record collection, billiards table and living room lounge, with plans for further development as detailed herein.
About the Distillery & The Last Refuge
The Club is rooted in our two signature locations within Kentucky. Our Pleasureville distillery spans 200 acres of historic Squire Boone land where sustainability meets craft—featuring heirloom grain fields, roaming bison, and America’s most environmentally forward bourbon production amid rolling hills and vintage 1700s cabins. In downtown Louisville, The Last Refuge transforms a circa 1870 church into the spiritual home of Heaven’s Door, housing the world’s largest American whiskey collection with nearly 5,000 bottles, while the adjacent Zephyr building offers retail space and an intimate vinyl-filled tasting loft where members gather to celebrate the perfect blend of art and craft in American whiskey.

The Heaven’s Door Distillery is much more than a picturesque craft distillery – it is a place where art, craft, and sustainability converge to create something entirely new on the Kentucky bourbon trail and in American culture.
The Heaven’s Door Distillery in Pleasureville, KY, is situated on over 200 acres of rolling hills, woods, lakes and the winding Six Mile Creek. This site, once owned by pioneer Squire Boone, was chosen for its pristine beauty, unique natural features and historic roots.
Heaven’s Door’s home in this quaint Amish community takes guests on a journey that mirrors Dylan’s own journey through American culture – raw, authentic, and defiantly individual. Nestled in this picturesque landscape with sweeping views across the hills, the Heaven’s Door Distillery features its own cultivated heirloom grains, roaming bison herd, vintage grist mill and cabins from the late 1700s.
In addition to the natural beauty of the property and the rustic charm of its vintage structures, the Heaven’s Door Distillery has set out to be the most sustainable distillery in America. Through its commitment to water conservation, geothermal heating and cooling, solar energy and CO2 recapture, from grain to glass, the Company has chartered a course of sustainability at the highest standard.
Just as Dylan transformed folk music by infusing it with electric energy and poetic depth, the Heaven’s Door Distillery bridges traditional Kentucky bourbon craftsmanship and heritage with bold, innovative spirit-making and artistic inspiration.
